Throughout the years we have been open we have noticed how age plays a factor in our Escape Games. Different ages tend to have different skills that we see that are helpful during our Escape Games. As our Game Masters are watching people play our Escape Games they have noticed that groups with different ages tend to do really well and here is why:
- Children under the age of 12: Children tend to be the best at investigating the rooms and finding things faster than adults do. They run into the room and start pulling things open, looking high and low throughout the room and end up finding most all the pieces they need to find throughout the game in a matter of minutes. Normally adults just start working on the puzzles and find pieces throughout the game. So we have found that having children in the room is helpful for that reason.
- Teens/Young Adults: This generation is all about multitasking and working quickly. Growing up in a very fast and busy lifestyle, having to work fast comes very natural to them. They work fast in order to accomplish all the puzzles they find throughout the room. They are not super stressed about the time they have left and are able to keep calm.
- Adults/Elders: Adults and elders are great at taking the time to go through the room and solve all the puzzles. They stay calm and think about each puzzle they find throughout the game and work on them to complete them. They are not ones to give up. They are also very good at staying organized and taking notes which really helps people in our games. Adults do so well because they stay organized and take on each puzzle one at a time.
With all this being said, there is not one age group, Teens-Elders, that we have found to be “better” at our games. We have seen all kinds of groups Escape and all kinds of groups almost Escape our rooms.
